Dr. Takeo Matsubara holds B.Eng., M.Eng., and Ph.D. degrees all from Kyoto University, Kyoto, Japan. He was with Sumitomo Electric Industries, Ltd., Osaka, Japan 1959-1988. While this period he hold various important posts, such as Deputy General Manager of Kumatori Laboratory (Osaka, Japan) and Chief Engineer of Corporate R&D Group (Tokyo, Japan). From 1961 to 1962, he was with Oak Ridge National Laboratory as visiting researcher. And he was, 1988-1993, director of Osaka Science and Technology Center (Osaka, Japan), 1993-1997, director of the Flee Electron Laser Institute (Osaka, Japan). From 1988, he is distinguished Research Fellow of Ritsumeikan University (Kyoto, Japan), He lectures MOT at the Graduate School of Economics, Ritsumeikan University. From 2002, he is director of the Innovation Promotion Association-Japan (IPA Japan). Now he holds the post of President of IPA Japan. He has received the Technology Award of Atomic Energy Society of Japan in 1992. He was a member of the Board of Directors of the Japan Society for Science Policy and Research Management (JSSPRM) (Tokyo, Japan), now councilor of JSSPRM. |
