Prof. Shin’ichi Otsuki holds B.Eng degree from Kobe University, Kobe, Japan. He joined Osaka National Research Institute (ONRI), the Agency of Industrial Science and Technology, Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI), Osaka, Japan in 1959. His career in the ONRI is outlined as follows: 1973-1978, senior researcher, 1978-1982, Deputy General Manager, 1982-1984, Executive Research Supervisor, and 1984-1989, General Manager. From 1989 to 1991, he was General Manager of Saga Prefectural Research Institute of Ceramics, Saga, Japan, 1991-1992, General Manager of ONRI, and 1992-1997, General Manager of Shiga Prefectural Research Institute of Technology and Executive Chief Engineer of Shiga Prefecture, Shiga, Japan. From 1997, he is a Professor of Hannan University, Osaka, Japan, he presently holds the post of President of Hannan University.
From 2002, he is a member of the board of directors of the Innovation Promotion Association-Japan (IPA Japan). From 1987, he is Auditor of the Japan Society for Science Policy and Research Management (JSSPRM). He is member of the Ceramic Society of Japan and the Association for the Study of Industrial Management (Japan). His recent interests are on the technology innovation and science and technology policy. |
