in Technology Management

To encourage young researchers in the area of Technology Management, PICMET (Portland International Center for Management of Engineering and Technology) announces the Outstanding Student Paper Award to be presented at the PICMET ’09 Conference, which will be held August 2-6, 2009, in Portland, USA.

The paper must be based upon the student’s research toward a graduate degree and must be nominated by the advising professor. Eligibility is restricted to currently enrolled students and those who have completed the Master’s or Doctorate no earlier than July 31, 2008.

The nominated papers will be considered as submissions to PICMET ’09 and will be subjected to a double-blind review process.

Evaluation criteria include the paper’s originality, significance, appropriateness, clarity, accuracy, adequacy, and contribution to engineering and technology management.

The award consists of:

  • $1,000 to cover travel expenses and free conference registration for the awardee.
  • Free conference registration for the advising/nominating professor.

  • A certificate of recognition for both the awardee and the advising/nominating professor.

In case of multiple-author papers, the cash award will be divided among the authors, but each author will receive free registration and a certificate.

If you are nominating a paper previously submitted to PICMET ’09, there is no need to send another copy. Simply provide the PICMET reference number (paper ID).

The winner of this award may not be nominated again for the same award in subsequent years.

The deadline for nominations is February 15, 2009
