PICMET'09 (Portland International Center for Management of Engineering and Technology) Conference will be held at Hilton Portland Hotel and Executive Tower in Portland, Oregon - USA.on August 2-6, 2009. The theme is "Technology Management in the Age of Fundamental Changes".
The rise of Asia as a new economic power, the role of natural resources in the realignment of emerging economies, the shift from manufacturing to services in develped economies, the looming energy crisis, the sustainability issues, the environmental issues, and the impact of the recent financial crisis throughout the world are clear signs that fundamental changes are taking place in the world.
Technology cannot solve every problem in society, but technology cannot be viewed in isolation from the rest of the society, either. PICMET'09 will explore the role of technology management at the focal point of fundamental changes and as an integrator of technology and society in the world.
Every aspect of technology management will be included in PICMET'09. There will be research papers, implementation papers, tutorials and invited keynote speeches. Plenty of networking opportunities will be provided in the technical program as well as the social activities.
The paper submission deadlines are as follows:
- November 30, 2008: Submission of abstracts (up to 200 words)
- February 15, 2009: Submission of full papers for the accepted abstracts for peer review
- April 30, 2009: Submission of final papers with revisions
- April 30, 2009: Submission of copyright forms
- April 30, 2009: Registration of at least one of the authors of each paper
