Ground Transportation between Honolulu Airport and the Hotel for PICMET '18

Book Express Shuttle

Due to safety measures, vehicles are not allowed to park and wait outside the Honolulu airport. Vehicles wait in a parking area across the street.

There are several options for transportation between Honolulu Airport and the Waikiki Marriott Resort where PICMET’18 is held.

  • Taxis cost about $50 plus tips one way (30-45 minutes to Waikiki Beach).

  • Uber is similar to the taxis, travel time depending on the time of the day (30-45 minutes to Waikiki Beach). You can use the Whova app to find someone to share the ride with you.

  • Shuttle bus is $16 per person one way (40-60 minutes to Waikiki Beach), but if advance reservation is not made, a long wait (up to half an hour, sometimes more) should be expected at the airport before boarding. PICMET has made an arrangement with Roberts Hawaii Express Shuttle Service. We recommend PICMET guests to make advanced reservations.

  • You can also use the City Bus (Line 20) to arrive at the Marriott Waikiki Beach Resort for only $2.75 (approximately 1 hour to Waikiki Beach). City Bus departs from the same area where all other transfer options above are located.
  • However, City Bus has some restrictions that you should be aware of:

    1. The ticket is paid upon boarding the bus. Unless you have the exact change, you cannot receive change for anything above $2.75

    2. Only baggage that can be stored under the passenger's seat or on passenger's lap that will not protrude to another seat will be admitted. No baggage may be stored in the aisle or on the seats. If your luggage cannot be kept comfortably on your lap (like a backpack as an in-cabin carry-on in flights) it may not be admitted to the bus.
