Like any other projects, those who are generated by cooperation between a client and a supplier require taking risks into consideration to be managed well. The client himself is often mentioned as one of the numerous project risk factors listed in the literature. This is especially true for projects in which clients contributes in their success in many key points, which increases the potential of risks. This is the case of private fuel storage facilities projects (PFSF) that one of the Malagasy oil distribution companies carries out for its private clients, as part of fuel supply contracts. Sometimes, indeed, and for commercial reasons, the client is to undertake himself one or more important work packages of the project. This paper aims to bring these risk factors associated to client out using the risk identification methodology RIR. This will be applied to the company's own process for these PFSF projects. Beforehand an essential theoretical framework about the issues of a client supplier relationship is established, with their potential effects on projects. To conclude, this document is an opportunity to propose, through the study of a practical case, a preliminary model of a risk management in such cooperative projects between a supplier and its clients.
